#see and this is why i don’t understand how anyone can hate him #sure he does a lot of stupid and reckless things #things i sometimes wish he never had done and am still angry with him for #but first of all he’s a vampire #so he has so many emotions and they’re all intensified and he doesn’t know how to handle it so he snaps #and second of all look at what these people do to lead him to it #i’m not saying that excuses him or anything #i’m just saying that i understand #he loved a pined after katherine for 150 years #he was played like a violin by her #only to find out that she never cared about him #never loved him #just used him for her own entertainment #he showed an insane amount of devotion for her only to be lied to and rejected 150 years later #he loses the only friends that ever has #all the while being pushed to be a good person and he doesn’t feel like he is one #he feels like he’s worthless because no one loves him back#he’s not worth loving all he is is bad so he feels obligated to keep up that charade because that’s what people expect of him #and with stefan omg #he steps aside from the woman he loves saying that his brother deserves her and not him #he expends all of his effort into making sure this girl who he loves and who doesn’t love him that loves his brother is safe and happy an… #for his brother to come up and basically say oh your love for her is an advantage for me because you’ll do whatever is in your power to m… #she’ll never respect you #and then elena putting her trust into someone rather than putting her trust into him #the one constant in her life no matter what and they get screwed over anyway #and then him later with elena being so desperate to keep her alive #he can’t stand the thought of losing her #this woman that came into his life (via katerinapierce )
